Donate to Support Dar a Luz Birth and Health Center!

Community,
You may remember that last year, the Anderson Charitable Foundation chose Dar a Luz as the recipient of a $15K challenge grant. With your support and generosity, we were able to fully match that and more!
Thanks to you all, we have once again been selected as the recipient of a $15k challenge grant. This means that we have to raise $15,000 from our community and contributors, find foundation(s), and/or corporation(s) that will match this grant in order to receive it. With GivingTuesday 2024 coming up on December 3rd, we think this is the perfect opportunity to challenge our community to help us raise $15,000 and more to support Dar a Luz and to expand access to midwifery care across NM. #DALgiftsforgrowth
You can donate directly HERE or scroll down to see how you can contribute to our 2024 GivingTuesday campaign!
All our gratitude,
The Dar a Luz team

What is GivingTuesday?

GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. It is a Movement that Unleashes the Power of Radical Generosity Around the World. GivingTuesday reimagines a world built upon shared humanity and generosity.

About Dar a Luz Birth and Health Center

Dar a Luz Birth and Health Center was founded in 2011 by two incredible Certified Nurse Midwives, Executive Director Abigail Lanin Eaves and Alisa Henning. Dar a Luz is dedicated to providing compassionate and holistic prenatal care, women's health services and a safe alternative to hospital birth for birthing people/women and their families. Since then, DaL has become the only fully licensed and accredited birth center in New Mexico, and is one of the oldest in the nation!

DAL is composed of eight certified nurse-midwives, seven registered nurses, three educators, and five administrators. Due to the current maternal care health desert in NM, our clinic serves 650+ clients annually including women and newborns from all over the state with 26% of our clients coming from outside of Albuquerque. Our nurse midwives are independent providers that offer gynecologic care, prenatal care, labor and birth, postpartum care, and newborn care. Our educators offer childbirth education classes and parental support groups.

Dar a Luz Birth & Health Center has been fortunate to serve this community for over 13 years. We have joyfully attended over 1,600 births at the center and have cared for nearly 4,000 families!

We thank our community for all they have done over the past 13 years to make Dar a Luz what it is today. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to care for you and for giving generously in the past in many ways. We believe that Dar a Luz offers incredibly important maternal, newborn, and gynecology services to Albuquerque and its surrounding communities. We believe in delivering integrated care to birthing people and their babies. We believe that there are many more families that desire and deserve our services in the future—our work here is not done! We are fighting hard to continue to hold a sacred space for our community and clients.

Please consider giving generously this GivingTuesday to help us continue our mission for this community we all love so much. We can’t move forward without you and your investment. We thank you and can't wait to show you what's next for Dar a Luz Birth Center in 2025! #DALgiftsforgrowth
