I have loved working at Dar a Luz Birth and Health Center now for 11 years. This has allowed me to work with my passion in Maternal Child Health Care. This place is the reason I went back to Nursing School!
We are a non-profit women's health center, which provides a model of care that supports the whole person with evidence based care. We have struggled every year to bridge the gap between what insurance pays and what it costs to provide healthcare to this community in order to make enough money to keep our doors open. This year, as grants have been severely reduced or removed, as well as rising living costs, our donations have been severely limited. We are in real danger of closing our doors.
In order to stay open and not close the center entirely, we are pivoting our care model away from birth, and toward providing high value care to more of the population, offering services spanning pediatrics to menopause. In order to do this we need a minimum of $100,000 in community support to transition to this new model of care.
Just a small donation will go a long way to helping me meet my goal for Dar a Luz Birth & Health Center
